Since there are a good handful of ways on making an iphone app, lets cover the tools and services that are out there.
Most of these tools allow you to convert your current website, into an app, making it easier for your users to navigate your site – not requiring you to sign up to the Apple developers program.
The AppMakr
AppMakr is an awesome service that allows you to make an iPhone/Android app for free – although it does have other options that cost money, but its genuinely one of the best services I have seen.
You can make an app from any of the following categories:
- HTML based
- Conversation based (like twitter)
- Images based
- Podcasting or playing back some kind of audio (music or otherwise)
Heck, you can even monetize the app with Ads and earn money for it, whilst giving it away for free! But you will need a Apple developers program subscription ($100 a year from Apple’s website).
SWebApps for Complexity
SwebApps provide a great service on quickly getting your app idea into an app, and into the Apple market – it now has Android apps designing too!
It allows you to do the following with apps:
- News
- Photos
- Events apps
- Location Based apps
- Podcast apps
- Audio apps
- Video Gallery App
- Shopping App
This is a pretty good list – but I still prefer using AppMakr as their site is much more user friendly.
